Scorpio Rising, Galactic Centre Mercury & A Snapshot of the Universe at Birth

There are moments in life where you sit down for what you think will be an ordinary conversation… and somehow end up staring directly into the architecture of your soul.
That is exactly what happened when I sat down with Roslyn from Roslyns Astrology for an episode of Astrology Up Close & Personal.
Together we explored my natal chart – the cosmic imprint frozen into the exact moment I entered this world, sometime approximately 21 years ago ;D What unfolded was equal parts fascinating, confronting, validating, mysterious, and deeply personal.
Apparently… there’s a lot going on in my chart.
Scorpio Rising: The X-Ray Vision of the Zodiac
One of the strongest signatures in my chart is my Scorpio Ascendant (16°).
Scorpio Rising people are often described as intense, magnetic, private, observant, and deeply perceptive. Roslyn explained that this energy can feel almost like an emotional X-ray machine – seeing beneath the surface, noticing what is hidden, unsaid, or energetically “off” long before others do.
This placement sets the tone for a life filled with transformation, reinvention, shadow work, emotional depth, and profound experiences that push continual evolution. People tend to either feel deeply drawn to this energy… or deeply uncomfortable. There is rarely any middle ground.
That resonated with me at a soul level because I have experienced this. People either Love me or hate me. I like to focus on those that love me.
Mars in Scorpio: Strength Through Transformation
Adding even more intensity is Mars in Scorpio.
Mars represents drive, willpower, passion, and how we handle conflict. In Scorpio, it creates extraordinary emotional stamina and resilience. This is not the energy of giving up easily. It is the energy of walking through fire, transforming, and emerging stronger – again and again.
Roslyn highlighted the determination in this placement: the refusal to accept surface-level answers and the drive to keep digging until the root truth is found.
Capricorn Sun: Grounded Power
While Scorpio brings the emotional depth and intensity, my Capricorn Sun (17°) adds structure, endurance, discipline, and long-term vision.
Capricorn climbs mountains slowly and steadily. Combined with Scorpio Rising, it creates someone who can withstand enormous pressure while continuing to move forward with quiet determination. This combination offers both emotional intensity and practical strength – a desire for deep meaning and real results.
Moon in Gemini: The Curious Mind
My Moon in Gemini (6°) brings a completely different flavour – restless curiosity, mental agility, and emotional processing through words, ideas, and connection.
This placement explains my love of asking questions, interviewing people, researching hidden perspectives, and exploring psychology, spirituality, and systems. The Gemini Moon wants to understand – and then share that understanding.
Mercury and the Galactic Centre
One of the most fascinating revelations was my Mercury at 27° Sagittarius, aligned with the Galactic Centre.
Astrologically, the Galactic Centre is seen as a cosmic transmission point – a source of higher awareness, expanded perception, and profound truth-seeking. When Mercury (the planet of mind, communication, and perception) sits here, it creates a strong channel for receiving and sharing bigger-picture wisdom.
This placement helps explain why I feel compelled to ask large questions about reality, consciousness, truth, and meaning – and why I often feel “plugged into” something greater.
Relationships, Love & Shadow Work
Roslyn also explored the deeper themes around relationships in my chart. With strong Scorpio energy, love is rarely casual. This chart speaks of relationships that become powerful catalysts for growth, healing, awakening, and self-discovery.
It wants depth, authenticity, loyalty, and transformation. Not always easy… but rarely shallow.
A Snapshot of the Universe at Birth
What struck me most was the feeling that a natal chart is literally a snapshot of the universe at the exact moment of our birth — a symbolic map of energies, potentials, challenges, strengths, and soul lessons.
This reading felt less like fortune-telling and more like decoding patterns that had been quietly shaping my life for decades. It was insightful, validating, and deeply empowering.
Whether you view astrology psychologically, spiritually, or symbolically, there is something profoundly moving about seeing your inner world reflected back through the language of the stars.
