A Spiritual Framework for Remembering the Truth of Who We Are
Preamble to A Course In Miracles
“This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time.
The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance.

The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.
This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.”
The world is an illusion, created by the ego as a defense against truth.
The world of form, time, and space was made—not created—to veil the eternal. It is a projection of the mind that believes it has separated from God. Everything the body sees is a smokescreen for the mind’s unconscious guilt. The ego built this dream to distract us from waking to our true Identity.
Only love is real; everything else (fear, guilt, anger) is a distortion.
All that exists is Love, for Love is of God and God is all. Fear is a misperception, an absence of love, a shadow cast by a sleeping mind. Emotions like anger and guilt do not reflect truth, but resistance. They dissolve when the light of love is remembered and allowed to shine.
Forgiveness is the central practice — not pardoning sins but recognizing that, in truth, no sin ever occurred.
True forgiveness sees that no real harm was done, because the dream of separation has no power over eternal reality. We do not forgive because someone deserves it—we forgive because we are ready to remember the truth. We release illusions and see the face of Christ instead.
Miracles are natural expressions of love and shifts in perception from fear to love.
Miracles are not grand interventions, but gentle corrections. They restore the mind to peace by undoing fear. They do not change the world, but change how we see it. When we ask for a miracle, we are asking to see as the Holy Spirit sees—with compassion, innocence, and truth.
God’s Voice speaks through the Holy Spirit, which you can access through stillness and surrender.
The Holy Spirit is the remembrance of God within you. He speaks through intuition, quiet knowing, and the gentle nudge to choose peace. The ego shouts and demands. The Holy Spirit waits, whispers, and never forces. In stillness, we hear His call. In surrender, we follow His guidance.
We are not separate, but unified in the one Mind of God — the Sonship.
All minds are joined. There is no private thought, no separate self. What appears as ‘others’ are reflections of our own mind. When we judge a brother, we condemn ourselves. When we forgive a brother, we free ourselves. In truth, we are one Son, dreaming of exile, yet still at home in God.
The body is not our identity, but a neutral communication device.
The body can serve the ego or the Holy Spirit. When given to the ego, it becomes a symbol of separation, limitation, and death. When given to the Holy Spirit, it becomes a tool for healing, a means of extending love, and a classroom for learning forgiveness.
Time is a teaching device — its only purpose is to help us awaken.
Time, like the body, is neutral. The ego uses it to reinforce the past and fear the future. The Holy Spirit uses it to collapse illusions and bring us into the holy instant. When time is given to God, it becomes a blessing and a bridge to eternity.
The ego is a false identity — a belief system built on fear, control, and scarcity.
The ego is not an entity, but a mistaken idea. It is the voice of separation, the belief that we are on our own. It thrives on comparison, specialness, and attack. Its logic is circular and its promises empty. Only by questioning the ego’s voice can we begin to choose differently.
The Holy Spirit undoes the ego one thought at a time, restoring us to peace.
Each time we ask, “Is there another way of seeing this?” we invite the Holy Spirit in. His curriculum is one of unlearning fear, remembering innocence, and choosing peace. He teaches through contrast, showing us the cost of ego choices and the joy of love’s return.
There is no death — the Son of God is eternal.
What dies was never real. Life is not of the body but of the spirit. We are as God created us: changeless, limitless, eternal. Death is the ego’s final weapon, the ultimate illusion. But it cannot touch what God has made real.
Heaven is not a place, but an awareness of perfect oneness.
Heaven is now. It is not earned, reached, or traveled to. It is remembered. As we undo what is not true, what is always true gently rises to awareness. The peace of God is our natural state. We do not need to seek it — only to remove the blocks to its awareness.
You are as God created you — and nothing you have done can change that.
No matter the story, no matter the seeming fall, you remain holy. The journey is not to become something better, but to remember who you already are. The light in you is not gone — it is merely hidden behind clouds of misbelief. One choice for love can part those clouds forever.
Let this be a gentle invitation back to peace, to truth, and to your natural inheritance: joy without opposite, love without condition, and a remembrance that you are home in God and never truly left.
