My name is Dawn Kelly, and I’m proud to be a member of the Eastern Regional RSL here in Bassendean. It feels particularly meaningful to be standing here today, in a place that holds such personal significance for me, to announce my candidacy for the Great Australian Party in the electorate of Hasluck for the 2025 election.
I’m honoured to be joined by someone whose leadership and tenacity I greatly admire – our Party President and former Senator for Western Australia, Rodney Culleton. It’s a privilege to have his support and guidance, along with that of the Great Australian Party’s committed team.
This RSL is close to my heart. I come here often – not just out of respect, but out of a deep sense of connection and gratitude to the men and women who have served this country. Our veterans are the living spirit of the ANZAC legacy – a reminder of the courage and sacrifice that built this nation. Their service has protected our freedoms, and today, I stand here determined to protect those same freedoms in another way.
While I haven’t served in uniform, I believe standing for election is my way of serving – by standing up for our communities, our rights, and the principles that underpin a free and fair Australia. We are facing challenges not from foreign troops, but from foreign corporate influence embedded in government decision-making – slowly and quietly eroding the rights and sovereignty of everyday Australians.
Right now, we have a government that doesn’t represent us. It represents interests far removed from the daily realities of working Australians. Laws are being written not with the people in mind, but with the profit margins of corporations at heart. That’s not just a concern – it’s a crisis of democracy.
I love this country. I always have, and I always will. And it’s out of that love that I am stepping forward – to bring greater accountability, transparency, and a true voice of the people back into Parliament.
Here’s something many Australians aren’t told enough: under the Constitution, the real power lies with you – the people. The Commonwealth of Australia isn’t just a legal term; it means all of us. The Parliament and the government exist because we allow them to. Any change to our Constitution must be approved by referendum – by your vote. That is the foundation of our democracy. You are not just voters; you are the Parliament.
And yet, I see more and more Australians feeling voiceless – left behind by a system that was meant to serve them. My mission is to change that.
My own journey into politics began at a grassroots level – as Vice President of the Kingsley and Greenwood Residents Association. That’s where I saw first-hand how decisions are made behind closed doors, like the Labor Government’s attempt to secretly sell off public school land. That experience lit a fire in me – and it reminded me that when communities come together and push back, we can win.
Since then, I’ve continued serving my community – as a volunteer, as a Justice of the Peace, and as someone who’s worked to support individuals navigating our legal system. I run a community support group, Practical Lawful Ascension, helping people represent themselves in court – giving them the tools and confidence to stand up for their rights.
Because if we don’t stand on our rights – we will lose them.
There are deeply concerning trends emerging – including mass surveillance through facial recognition and number plate tracking, and laws designed to silence dissent under the guise of ‘misinformation’. These developments don’t protect Australians – they control them. They take us down a path we cannot afford to follow.
We’ve seen the consequences of unchecked power – both here and abroad. The rise of social credit systems, as seen in China, should be a warning to us all. We must not allow our freedoms to be traded away, one law at a time.
This campaign isn’t just about me. It’s about all of us. It’s about bringing the voices of everyday Australians – people who feel ignored, overlooked, and unheard – back into the heart of our democracy.
I am standing for Hasluck because I care deeply about our people and our future. And I am truly humbled by the friends, supporters, and everyday Aussies who’ve come forward to help me along the way.

Christians in Australia have a broad range of concerns, including religious freedom, the protection of life, preserving the biological truth of male and female, and ensuring the poor and vulnerable are treated justly. In no more than 220 words, can you please share how you will address the concerns of Christians?
I am Dawn Kelly, the Great Australian Party candidate in the Hasluck electorate. I stand for the religious freedoms and inalienable rights of all Australians.
I have always enjoyed participating in community life through charity and community, in both volunteer and professional roles.
Christianity is the foundation of English law in this country. The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900 preamble is the founding document of our nation humbly relies on the blessings of Almighty God. Authorised King James Version Bible, a royal-assented law book used in all courts to swear an oath to God.
We are being denied our God given right to stand as a man or woman before the law through government policy and the promotion of socialist values, our traditional values are being gradually removed.
The ‘Crown’ has always represented a moral compass of biblical law being the standard by which legislation is held to. We are now heading towards corporate standards, the socialist government of Whitlam by stealth substituted the ‘Crown’ in order to remove our authority that is the Commonwealth. This is the big lie that our party president exposed in entering parliament. It’s also the reason that he has been set upon by the powerful in government circles.
