My Bunnings Notice

I wrote a notice to bunnings to seek information in relation to their facial recognition technology policies as I have serious concerns about how they are managing this biometric data.

As-King Questions

  1. What specific facial recognition technology or software is currently in use at Bunnings stores?
  2. Where and how is the data collected through this technology stored?
  3. What measures are in place to ensure the security and integrity of this data?
  4. Who within Bunnings or third-party entities has access to this information?
  5. What guarantees or reassurances can Bunnings provide to the public regarding the protection of this biometric data?

Unfortunately Ms Curran did not respond to my correspondence seeking information that could potentially violate the privacy of all Bunnings Customers. I am particularly interested in the number plate technology used in Bunnings and their lack of transparency. In the email dated 10th July 2025, I carbon copied three other departments into this correspondence.
