In a Bio-Electric Therapy Session
When you come in for a bio-electric therapy session, the first thing to know is this:
there is no single “standard” session.
Every body is different, and every session is guided by what your system needs on the day.

What the machine is
The bio-electric machine delivers a very mild electrical current, similar to the natural electrical signals already used by your nervous system and cells. It is not painful, not shocking, and not forceful. Most people describe it as deeply relaxing, warm, or subtly energising.
Session styles can vary
Some sessions are seated sessions, where we focus on supporting circulation throughout the entire body.
These sessions are often used to help boost blood flow, support oxygen delivery, and assist the body to move out of acidic, inflammatory patterns and into a more alkaline, balanced state.
Other sessions involve acupressure and meridian massage, using the machine to stimulate specific points and energy pathways. This helps improve communication between systems, release tension, and support organ function.
You may also have a table session, where you are lying down and encouraged to fully relax your mind and body. These sessions are ideal for nervous system regulation, chronic pain, emotional holding, and deep restoration.
How the therapy works
During the session, the practitioner channels the mild electrical current through their own body into yours.
This creates a continuous, grounded flow rather than a mechanical sensation.
Many clients describe it as a next-level relaxation massage.
The current helps calm the nervous system, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and encourage the body to return to a state of balance and repair.
What the current does in the body
Bio-electric therapy supports the body’s electrical communication, which influences muscle relaxation, tissue hydration, lymphatic movement, and cellular repair.
When the electrical environment of the body stabilises, pain signals often soften, tension releases, and the system can finally rest.
Contraindications
Bio-electric therapy is not suitable for everyone.
If you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, or have specific implanted medical devices, this therapy may not be appropriate.
Always disclose your medical history before your session so we can ensure your safety.
Aftercare: what to do after your session
After your session, it’s important to hold the current in the body.
For the first one to two hours, avoid:
- Showering
- Cold food or drinks
- Cold air or strong breezes
- Air conditioning, especially in the car
Instead:
- Drink warm water or warm herbal teas
- Keep your body warm
- Move gently if needed
This helps the electrical charge settle and integrate, allowing the therapy to continue working after you leave.
How often should you come?
For chronic pain or long-standing conditions, weekly sessions are recommended initially.
For acute pain or short-term issues, fortnightly sessions are often sufficient.
Your body will guide the process, and session frequency can be adjusted as your system responds.
